1st Grade takes home the Attendance Challenge Victory from last week! Mrs. Lucas and Mrs. Wigant's classes had a combined attendance rate of 99.1% Great job! Popsicles and an extra 20 minute recess belong to 1st Grade!

Thank you to the Galva Jr/Sr HS Drama Club for allowing our Elementary students to attend the play preview today! Come out and support these wonderful young men and women at their performances of "The Lightning Thief" at 7:30 PM tonight and Saturday!

The Galva Jr/Sr High School Spring Musical premieres tonight at 7:30pm. Admission is $10. Please join us in the HS Gymnasium for The Lightning Thief! Doors open at 7:00pm. If you cannot make it tonight, you can catch it on Saturday at 7:30pm.

Elementary Families: we have two lost and found tables set up on the 1st floor between the Book Fair and Cafeteria. We have many items to be claimed. Please stop and take a look to see if anything might belong to your child while at Family Reading Night.

The rescheduled softball game against Illini West in Carthage has been moved from Friday, March 20, to Thursday, April 23.

Due to the weather, the home softball and baseball games today, Thursday, March 19, 2026, with Monmouth Roseville and Geneseo at the Galva Park District are cancelled. No reschedule dates yet. They are TBD.

ACT Practice? We ride at dawn! Actually... long before dawn. These kids showed up dark and early to start getting ready!

🚨 📚 Don't forget that Family Reading Night 2026 "Reading Madness" is tomorrow on Thursday 3-19-26 from 5:00-7:00 PM! Families can enter through the Gymnasium Doors and receive their welcome bags. We'll gather in the gym and then rotations will start around 5:25. The Spring Book Fair will have evening shopping hours in Room 13 for students and families!

The Accuplacer testing that was scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, has been moved to Thursday, March 19th. Junior students will leave after first period for testing and a tour at Black Hawk College East Campus and then will go to lunch at Burger King in Kewanee. Students need to bring money for lunch.

Due to the weather, the softball game with Illini West @ Carthage has been rescheduled to Friday, March 20, 2026, with a 4:30 PM start time at Carthage.

There will be no Jr. high scholastic bowl practice tonight. (Tuesday, March 17).

March 17th - Practices and activities in our facilities will be allowed after 3:00pm. Please check with your child's coach for details.

A reminder that Jr. High track is starting practice tomorrow (3/18) from 3:15-4:30! Athletes please make sure you have water and athletic clothing. You should change after school before heading out to practice. We will meet by the football concession stand shed. There will be a parent meeting following practice! Plan to come to the elementary parking lot and we will determine our location from there. Parents, if you are not attending the meeting and your athlete can't walk home, please arrange a ride for them at 4:30! -Coach Harris and Coach McMeekan

This weekend!!!! The Galva Drama Club will perform the musical The Lightning Thief at Galva Jr/Sr High School on March 20th & 21st. Based on Rick Riordan's best selling series, The Lightning Thief Musical tells the story of Percy Jackson. As the half-blood son of a Greek god, Percy Jackson has newly-discovered powers he can’t control, a destiny he doesn’t want, and a mythology textbook’s worth of monsters on his trail. When Zeus's master lightning bolt is stolen and Percy becomes the prime suspect, he has to find and return the bolt to prove his innocence and prevent a war between the gods.

The Lightning Thief is an exciting and rollicking dramatic-comedy appropriate for all ages. Tickets are $10 and available at the door. Doors open at 7 pm and the show begins at 7:30.
