Galva Varsity Wildcats Defeat West Prairie Behind Strong Performance From Weber By GameChanger Jovie Weber was dominant in the circle, as the starter rang up 15 strikeouts in Galva Varsity Wildcats's 4-2 victory over West Prairie on Monday. Jovie Weber gave up six hits and one run over seven and two-thirds innings while walking one. Galva Varsity Wildcats got on the board in the second inning after a steal of home scored one run. Tippey doubled to center field on an 0-2 count, which helped West Prairie tie the game at one in the bottom of the sixth. In the top of the eighth, Galva Varsity Wildcats broke up the tie when Jovie Weber doubled, scoring two runs. Then a single by Arabella Porsche followed to extend the lead to 4-1. Soule started in the circle for West Prairie. The pitcher gave up eight hits and four runs (two earned) over eight innings, striking out three and walking none. Jovie Weber led Galva Varsity Wildcats with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 2-for-4 on the day. Jovie Weber stole two bases. Galva Varsity Wildcats stole four bases in the game. Rigg and Tippey were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for West Prairie. Tippey led West Prairie with one run batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Bussell With 4 Hits As Galva Varsity Wildcats Beat Bureau Valley By GameChanger Alison Bussell collected four hits in four at bats, as Galva Varsity Wildcats defeated Bureau Valley 5-0 on Friday. Alison Bussell doubled in the fourth inning, doubled in the first inning, doubled in the third inning, and singled in the sixth inning. Amber Plummer threw seven innings innings on the way to a shutout. The starting pitcher struck out 12. Galva Varsity Wildcats got on the board in the first inning after Arabella Porsche singled, scoring one run. A single by Arabella Porsche extended the Galva Varsity Wildcats lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the third inning. Longmire stepped in the circle first for Bureau Valley. The starter surrendered 10 hits and five runs (two earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out two and walking one. Galva Varsity Wildcats collected 10 hits in the game. Galva Varsity Wildcats didn't commit a single error in the field. Kaylyn Gale had the most chances in the field with 13. Wright and Besler each collected two hits for Bureau Valley. Congratulations to TJ Conner on commissioning as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army! It was truly an honor and privilege to administer the Oath of Office to a former Galva Jr./Sr. High School student and 2022 GHS graduate. Thank you for your willingness to lead and serve this great Nation. Congratulations, Lieutenant Conner!

On Wednesday evening Mrs. Dooley and Mr. Freeman's 4th grade classes held a Living Wax Museum Night. Students chose an individual who played a shaping role in history and reported on that person by making a poster board of their life. They dressed the part and took on the persona of that historical figure. Press the "button" and those individuals came back to life with students telling their story! A job well done in bringing history back to life!

Tomorrow evening is our annual All-Unit Band and Choir concert at Wiley Park! Concert begins at 6:00pm (call time for students is 5:30pm). Bring a lawn chair and enjoy a nice evening of music outside!

The High School softball game scheduled for tonight, 5/13, at Princeville has been canceled.

Tonight is Kindergarten Round-Up Night 2026! We invite all current Galva PreK students going into Kindergarten next year as well as all non-Galva students who will be attending Kindergarten in 2026-2027. Please enter through the Gymnasium Doors. The event will begin at 5:30 PM. See you there!

PreK-2 students enjoyed a safety presentation from Ameren today. Thank you for teaching our students about electricity and natural gas.

The Galva Girls Jr. high track team had some amazing accomplishments at our sectional on Saturday! Of course we need to congratulate our state qualifier, Ellie Sellers! She qualified in all three of her events (100 m, 100 hurdles, and high jump) by placing 1st! She also ran her season's best time in 100 m, finishing in 13.92 s. Ellory Glasser also had a huge day finishing 2nd in 200 m and long jump! She set new personal bests in both events. She ran her 200 m in 31.32 s and jumped 3.92 m in long jump! Ceci Appell ran her season's best time in 100 m, 16.36 s and she set a new personal best in 400 m, 1:19.79! Chloe Anderson set a new personal best in shot and discuss. She threw 5.10 m in shot and 13.96 m at disc! Parker Kaiser ran her season's best time in the 1600 and was just over her personal best, with a time of 6:57.27! Lastly the 8th grade girls 4x100 (Ceci Appell/Ellory Glaser/Lola Leaf/Sam Fox) set a new best time of 1:04.13! Congrats on a great season ladies, we're proud of you!

Both of our throwers made the finals in discus! We love the points and Top 10 finishes. That is huge on a team of only 8 young men. Great job Bubb and Ben!
