Galva FFA members had a great first day volunteering at Bishop Hill’s Jordbruksdagarna Ag Days!
Members from both the Galva Junior High and High School FFA volunteered throughout the afternoon, working shifts from Noon–4:00 p.m. Members helped visitors take part in hands-on agricultural demonstrations including shelling corn, making corn husk dolls, and making clay bricks.
Ag Days gives our members a chance to work with the community, share agriculture with visitors of all ages, and give a glimpse of agricultures past.
We’ll be back tomorrow! Noon–4:00 p.m. Stop by the FFA demonstrations behind the Carpenter Building and see us!

🏐💙💛 GALVA JV TAKES 2ND PLACE! 💛💙🏐
What a day for our Galva JV Volleyball team at our home tournament! The Wildcats played some GREAT volleyball and finished the day with an impressive 2nd PLACE finish! 🥈
💪 And these girls EARNED it! Due to the last-minute schedule changes, our Wildcats had to take the court for FOUR GAMES IN A ROW with no break! They battled through every set, kept their energy up, and continued competing all the way through their final match. Their toughness, determination, and teamwork were on full display all day!
Even more impressive — the only match they lost all day was to Fulton, the tournament champions!

🥈 TOURNAMENT RUNNER-UP — GALVA WILDCATS! 🥈
A 3–1 record while playing four straight matches is something these girls should be extremely proud of. They competed hard, stayed together, and kept fighting even as the day wore on. Way to represent Galva! 💙💛
We also want to give a huge THANK YOU to all of the coaches, players, families, and fans who joined us today! With a team having to back out at the last minute, there were unexpected schedule changes that required everyone to adjust. We truly appreciate everyone’s patience, flexibility, and understanding as we worked to keep the tournament running smoothly and make it a great day of volleyball for everyone! 🏐
Congratulations to our JV Wildcats on a well-earned 2nd-place finish! 🥈🐾
It’s a GREAT day to be a Wildcat! 💙💛

The junior high cross country team was back in action at Detweiller park this evening! This is a shortened version of the high school course, but our longest race at 2.1 miles. The ladies crushed the goals we set!
Parker Kaiser cut 10 second off her time from this course last season, finishing in 16:43!
Iris Mosley crushed her time from last season, cutting over 2 minutes, and finishing in 19:32!
The rest of the team ran the course for the first time and ran some of their best times this season! Paisley Dunn finished in 18:34, Afton Odren finished in 20:05, and Geneva Odren finished in 20:58!
Keep up the great ladies, let's finish this season strong!
