4th Grade takes the trophy for the final Attendance Challenge week of the 2025-2026 school year! Congratulations to Mrs. Dooley and Mr. Freeman's classes! We look forward to renewing the challenges in 26-27 and encouraging our Wildcats to show up each and every day! #AttendanceMatters
5th graders had a great library visit Thursday! After the library visit, we played at the park and enjoyed a pizza party to celebrate the epic play performance on Tuesday evening.
Tonight, at 6:00pm is the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony. Doors open at 5:00pm. 8th Grade Students should be dressed and ready by 5:30pm in the library. We will see you tonight!
The end of an era. The 1600m run was Bryant's final race wearing a Galva Uniform. It was bittersweet, but we are so thankful for all the years he has dedicated to the track and Cross Country programs. Way to PR tonight and go out on top.
It took around 5,000 practice throws; 500 sprints; 300 squats; 100 med ball throws; and 50 fights. But he made it! Congrats to Ben Burris on making it to state in the shot put with a throw of 13.91m. Good luck at state next week!

We're live from George Pratt Memorial Field in Mercer County for the IHSA SECTIONAL MEET. The Wildcats came to compete! First up is Reid Harris taking home 5th in the Long Jump and top 10 in the High Jump. Congrats Kid.

Both of our throwers cam in seeded out of the finals but they did not let it stop them! Both Ben and Bubb made the finals in Discus. Both had big PR's of 36.67m and 36.99m respectively.

They saved the best for last! 2 Wildcats, running 2 fast, in the 200m dash. Congrats on snatching a PR on your last race of the year. You guys are 2 cool!

Today, May 20th is the last full day of 8th Grade attendance.
Tomorrow, 8th Grade Students will arrive to school by 8:00am to practice for the Promotion Ceremony. 8th Graders will be dismissed home by approximately 10:00am. The Promotion Ceremony begins at 6:00pm.

Galva Athletics- Wednesday May 20: The boys baseball team will host West Prairie at the Galva Park District at 4:30 PM and the Boys Track Team will travel to Mercer County and compete at their IHSA Track Sectional which starts at 3:00 PM. Go Cats!

What a wonderful play performance by our 5th Graders tonight! It takes a lot of courage to perform in front of such a big crowd. Thank you to all the families that supported them! We have some future actors in our midst! 🎭
Due to the weather, the baseball game with VIT/Astoria today has been postponed to Thursday May 21 at Astoria. Game time is still 4:30 PM.
Galva Athletics 5/19/2026-Softball semi-finals at West Central at 4:30 PM and Boys Baseball vs Astoria/VIT at 4:30 PM.
With the win tonight, we will continue in the Regionals. Softball will travel to West Central for the semifinals on Tuesday with a 4:30 PM start time.

Game rescheduled- The BASEBALL game at Woodland (Streator) has been postponed to Fiday, May 22 with a 4:30 PM start time.
Galva Athletics Monday, May 18: IHSA Softball Regional Quaterfinal (We compete with West Prairie) @ Galva Park District @ 4:30 PM. Baseball travels to Woodland (Streator) for a 4:30 PM game.
