
This is a reminder for the 2025 IESA Track and Field Sectional, hosted by Galva. The IESA sets the ticket cost at $10.00 for all adults and children who are kindergarten age and older. Please remember that no passes will be accepted.

7th Grade Computer Science students have been programming Finch Robots this week. They had to program their robot to make it to the end of the maze!

Congratulations to junior, Wyatt Rohrig! He was selected to attend Cyber 100 at Bradley University last Friday. This full-day Cybersecurity event was also a competition where Wyatt teamed up with students from Peoria area schools. Wyatt's team took 3rd-Place, and he earned a $20,000 scholarship to Bradley University!



WOW! The numbers are in. Our April Attendance Challenge was for students to miss 1.5 days or fewer in the entire month. Out of 228 total students in Grades K-6, 89% of students qualified! What an effort! This is a victory for students, their parents and guardians, and our school!


Congratulations to Jaxson, Asher, and Xander on receiving a positive referral! They were nominated by a staff member for doing great things at Galva Elementary! #GalvaProud




The inflatable movie screen is ready to go and it is indeed a big one! Our April Attendance Incentive is planned for this Friday afternoon complete with popcorn! 🍿 🎥

The Jr. High Girls Track team had a successful conference meet on Tuesday.
The 7th Grade girls team finished 5th overall, 1 point behind the 4th place team!
Ellie Sellers had a big night! She finished 1st in the 100 m and 1st in long jump and set a new PR of 4.49 m. She finished 2nd in hurdles and set a new PR of 18.78!
Parker Kaiser set a big PR in the 800 m of 3:18.69. She also shaved some time off of her best 400 m time, finishing in 1:30.16. She also finished 5th in the 1600 m run!
Kinsley Gale finished 3rd in the 800 m and 4th in the 1600 m run!
Aubrey Dowel-Keup finished 3rd at high jump!
Chloe Matusyk set a new PR in long hump of 3.66 m!
Sam Faber finished 5th at discus and set a new PR of 18.52!
Sam Fox set a new PR at discuss of 10.47 m!
We are all looking forward to seeing what these ladies do on Saturday at the sectional meet at home!

On Wednesday, our 8th Graders head to Springfield. Students need to be at the high school by 6:00am. The field trip will return after 5:00pm.

LTC JH Conference Track Meet on May 6, 2025 will be at Galva Jr Sr High School with a 3:00 PM start time.

The 4x400m Relay is the most exciting race in sports. And it was even more exciting tonight because we needed 3 more points to move into 6th place. We had a crazy PR (4:02.45) but still fell 2 points shy. Great effort Men!!


Our Milers left it all on the track tonight!
Both got PR's of over 12 seconds! Way to go Bryant and Randal.

1st grade enjoyed their field trip to the Orpheum Theatre and Wiley Park on Friday.
