Galva Elementary is psyched for Family Reading Night 2025! "Wild About Reading" kicked off with a special guest, Tom Newman! Tom brought his red tailed hawk, Rusty, to visit our students and answer questions! 🦅





Due to forecasted afternoon thunderstorms, JH Track Practice has been cancelled for today 3-19-25. Please contact Coach McMeekan and Coach Harris with any additional questions.


There will be a football player meeting with the new coach today at 3 PM in the cafeteria.

There will be a Spring 2025 informational trap shooting meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19th in the Distance Learning Room of the high school. All junior high and high school students interested in learning about trap shooting and the team should attend. If you have questions, contact Coach Joe Conner by calling 309.883.2171.

On Wednesday, March 19th, our Freshmen will take the PreACT test. All freshmen will meet in the cafeteria at 8:00am for breakfast.

World Down Syndrome Day- Wear Crazy Socks or Hats for $1 on Friday, March 21, 2025. All proceeds go to research for Down Syndrome. Please join us wearing crazy socks or a crazy hat this Friday!


Our junior high students made it through a long morning or IAR Testing. They will be back at it tomorrow. Please have your student at school by 8:00am for breakfast and testing.

Good luck to our Varsity Baseball team as they take on Riverdale in the home opener! First pitch is scheduled for 4:30pm. Go Cats!

Tomorrow (Tuesday, March 18) Mrs. Mersman will be taking student group photos (ffa, student council , band, choir, interact etc), for Jr. High and High School, as well as senior banners pictures for all seniors not in a sport! Please be ready to smile for the camera!

One of the things we are most excited about this season are our relay teams, and they both performed extremely well today.



We have some really talented freshmen this season. And Blaiden came to play today!

A couple of weeks ago, the attendance challenge for 3-3-25 to 3-7-25 presented a winning prize of ice cream at lunch! With a combined attendance rate of 98.3%, Kindergarten rocked the challenge! Ice Cream is coming their way this Thursday at lunch! #AttendanceMatters


Congratulations to our attendance winners for the Week of 3-10-25 to 3-14-25! 1st Grade took home the victory with a combined attendance rate of 97.9% This week they can celebrate with a pajama day and an extra 30-minute recess!
