The high school cross country team was on fire 🔥at their season opener at Chautauqua park in kewanee! Charlotte Farmer came in 4th in the women's race and was just over her best time last season at 26:31! Randal Engels and John Clemons both improved on their times from this course last season by 2-3 minutes! Randal finished in 22:23 and John finished in 27:16! congrats athletes we are so excited to see what you do this season with this strong start!

⛳️ WILDCAT GOLF UPDATE! The Galva High School Golf Team had a great day out on the course at Oak Run! The results are posted below: ⭐️ Gage Simoneaux - 52 ⭐️ Eli West - 52 ⭐️ Olivia Calderon- 48 and new season PR!! ⭐️ Kaylyn Gale and Amber Plummer competed in their very first golf outing EVER and did an awesome job!! A big congratulations to Olivia on setting a new season personal record! And a special shoutout to Kaylyn and Amber for stepping onthe course for their first ever competitive golf outing! Great job representing Galva, Wildcats! Keep working hard, improving, and having fun out on the course! It's a great day to be a Wildcat!!

Our first assembly of the school year was a success! 💙💛🐾

Students and staff came together to kick off the year, review new policies and procedures, welcome and introduce new staff members, and celebrate some of our Wildcats!

We were also proud to recognize our 8th-Grade students with certificates for their participation in the Travis Weaver 2026 Community Clean-Up Project. Thank you for representing Galva and giving back to our community!

Student Council President Reid H. and Student Council Vice President Isabelle W also spoke to the student body. Isabelle shared a great message as we begin the new year:

"A new school year means new classes, new experiences, new friendships, and plenty of opportunities to get involved. There are going to be challenges, but there are also going to be moments that we will remember for years. So take chances, try something new, support your classmates, and don't be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone. You never know what one opportunity or one person could bring into your life."

And, of course, no assembly is complete without a little treat! 🍦A big thank you to our Student Council for handing out ice cream to everyone following the assembly!

Exciting news for you Wildcat athletic fans! Please be on the lookout for another message for a link to our new athletics calendar/website. We are currently in the transition of having a new scheduling system, this will also make us have a new website which lets us have more control. This will be a better experience for all, especially for our Wildcat fans! There are just a few minor tweaks that have to be made before we can share it out, but I am excited to get that to you guys ASAP.
