Hello 8th Grade Families,
As we approach the Christmas season I am reaching out one last time with a final call for any current 8th Grade students interested in traveling to Washington D.C. in 2025. Our trip will take us to Washington D.C., Colonial Williamsburg, and Virginia Beach! There is still space available but it has filled up near capacity among all four schools. If your child is interested in traveling and has not yet registered, it is strongly encouraged that you register prior to January 1, 2025. Final payment is usually requested at the very end of March 2025. Students from other schools or family members and friends you may know can also register with the Galva group even if they do not attend Galva Jr/Sr High School. The only requirement is that they are currently in 8th Grade.

A huge Wildcat Shoutout to our NOVEMBER Students of the Month! #GalvaProud
The Elementary Cafeteria Staff welcomed the return of a student friend today! Our elf appeared on the serving line this morning. He is well-liked by our students who look forward to see his daily antics during lunchtime!
The attendance contest for the month of November was close! 7th-grade had 94.45% and 8th-grade had 94.75%. Congratulations to the 8th-grade class. The winning class gets a
movie & pizza party.
It’s that time of the year when the Galva High School gym becomes Wildcats Lanes, as we learn the lifetime activity of bowling in PE.
The Holiday Shoppe is up and running! Thank you to Mrs. Norway for setting it all up. Thank you to our volunteers for assisting our students!

Our district app keeps getting better and better! Check out the two-way messaging feature in our Galva CUSD app. Parents/guardians check your phone or email for instructions on how to access the new tool in our app.
With the temperatures feeling like Winter, this is a reminder for Elementary Parents and Students to plan for outside for recess. Students need to dress in layers with a winter coat, hat, and gloves. Hoodies are not considered to be a Winter Coat but are good for layering. If your child needs a coat, hat, or gloves, please contact the Elementary Office.

Dear Senior Parents and Students -
This is Vicki Conner, High School Counselor with a reminder that on Tuesday, December 3rd, there is a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) meeting at 6 pm in the Distance Learning Room. Ms. Schaffer from ISAC (Illinois Student Assistance Commission) will be here to assist families in completing the application. Completion of the FAFSA is a graduation requirement. The senior student and a parent both need to complete the application. Students should bring their Chromebooks to the meeting. Remember to bring your FSA id ! If you have questions, please call the high school or email vconner@galva224.org.
Galva Elementary will be joining the Junior High Leo's Club for this effort!
