The First Day of School is Friday, Aug. 16th! We start the day at 8am. During the first six days of school, we are on a 1:55pm Dismissal Schedule. See you soon!

The staff at Galva Elementary School is excited to welcome our students back to the building for the 2024-2025 school year! Our school start date is quickly approaching. Included in this email is a link to the 2024-2025 Welcome Back Letter that includes a great deal of information regarding the new year. Please take the time to read through the letter. Additionally, we will be sending home a Welcome Back Bag to all students on Backpack Night that includes a paper copy of this letter. Hello, Galva Jr/Sr High School Families! A back-to-school letter will be in your home mailboxes shortly. The High School Office is open today and tomorrow until 3pm, if you have any registration questions.

Locker Night is on Thursday, August 15th from 4-6pm. Students are invited to walk their schedule and place school supplies in lockers. If your family cannot make it that night, the office is open during the day, so stop in.

For those who missed concussion testing in May, we will have testing on Wednesday (Aug 7) and Thursday (Aug 8) from 1-3 PM at the high school to be ready for practices that start next week.

The Galva Elementary School office is open once again. The office will be open from 8:00-3:00 daily except for Friday, August 9, as offices will be closed that day.
Registration is also open on the Galva CUSD #224 website at www.galva224.org. If you are a returning student, registration will take place in your PowerSchool account. New students to the district will need to register on the district website and then complete registration in PowerSchool once an email is sent.
The first day of school for students in grades K-6 will be Friday, August 16, 2024 (1:55 Dismissal)
The first day of school for PreK students will be on Monday, August 19, 2024

A reminder that registration will open on Monday August 5! You will not be able to log into Powerschool until then.
Proud to share that these amazing Galva FFA members made history as the first teams from Galva to compete in the University of Illinois Crop Scouting Competition! They collaborated and rotated through 10 challenging stations, tackling topics such as weeds, insects, corn growth stages, pesticides, alternative crops, soybean growth, diseases, abiotic disorders, spraying, and a written exam. Teams finished 5th and 6th overall, and they’re already jotting down strategies to come back even better next year!
Any athletes going into 5th-12th grade and interested in Jr. High/High School cross country there will be an introductory meeting for athletes and parents/guardians on Monday August 5th at 5:30 pm at the high school. Jr. High practice will begin the next day and high school practice will start the following week. Reminder all athletes must have a sports physical on file with the school and must have completed the concussion test before they can participate in practice.
