Tonight, Galva is hosting the Dale Collis Track and Field Invitational. Coach Collis is an honored guest tonight at the track meet. Coach Collis's roles in the Galva School District include a science teacher, basketball coach, football coach, and track and field coach- 26 years for the junior high and 15 for the high school. His high school teams' accomplishments include 8 Lincoln Trail Conference Titles, a 1994 Sectional Championship, 25 major meet championships, and a State Champion, Ryan Preston, for his win in the 1993 State Meet in the 110 Meter High Hurdles. In addition, Coach Collis was inducted into the Galva Athletic Wall of Fame in 2004. He continues to support Galva Athletics by attending games and events throughout the year, and today he will continue that journey as he joins us for the Dale Collis Track and Field Invitational. Join us at the Galva Jr & Sr High School Track and Field Invitational as we honor this man this evening with a 4 PM start time.

Senior leaders, Maddie Bates and Camron O'Brien, were selected to attend the Illinois Principals Association Breakfast last Friday at Vibrant Arena in Moline. A well-deserved recognition!


8th Graders, John Clemons and Kinsley Gale, were selected to attend the Illinois Principals Association Breakfast for student leaders last Friday at Vibrant Arena in Moline. Congratulations!!!


Next year's Drama Club production will be the musical The Lightning Thief, based on the Percy Jackson books, which are based on Greek mythology. Students entering grades 7-12 who would like to participate in The Lightning Thief are encouraged to sign up for choir class when making next year's schedule.

The Galva High School Varsity Softball team has put together a raffle basket to raise donations to help cover a sweatshirt purchase. The basket includes: - $20 Old Bank Gift Card (Thank you Old Bank!!!!) - Bogg Bag (Coral) - 2 Vera Bradley Beach towels - Owala - Goggles - Sunglasses - Pool floatie (not pictured) - Banana Boat spray sunscreen, 2 - Sun Bum sunscreen, 2 - Aloe Vera - Bubbles - Sidewalk chalk - Glowsticks - Diamond Dotz - Pot and flowers for planting - Bandana - Ice Shaver, with Cherry and Blue Raspberry - Reese’s Smores Kit - Cosmic Stardust Alani - Tropical Vibe Celsius I believe there may be a few more donations for the basket yet, and will update once we have everything! The basket is currently valued at over $300.00 The girls will have tickets this week. Tickets are $5 each. If you would like to puchase a ticket and don’t know any of the girls, please reach out to Becky Wigant for a ticket. The winner will be drawn after the home game on Friday, April 25.




Congratulations to Galva Elementary School's 2025 IPA Student Leader Award winners Grace Conrad and Kellen Hardy! Grace and Kellen were nominated and voted on by staff for being outstanding student leaders in their 6th grade class.
