Proud to share that these amazing Galva FFA members made history as the first teams from Galva to compete in the University of Illinois Crop Scouting Competition! They collaborated and rotated through 10 challenging stations, tackling topics such as weeds, insects, corn growth stages, pesticides, alternative crops, soybean growth, diseases, abiotic disorders, spraying, and a written exam. Teams finished 5th and 6th overall, and they’re already jotting down strategies to come back even better next year!
Any athletes going into 5th-12th grade and interested in Jr. High/High School cross country there will be an introductory meeting for athletes and parents/guardians on Monday August 5th at 5:30 pm at the high school. Jr. High practice will begin the next day and high school practice will start the following week. Reminder all athletes must have a sports physical on file with the school and must have completed the concussion test before they can participate in practice. just a reminder that Band Camp will be Aug. 5th-8th from 4:00pm-8:30pm each night. this is for all 9-12 band members and select 8th grade students. It's time to get the storm in motion!

**College for Kids Transportation Update:
I was contacted this morning by Wethersfield's principal regarding transportation to College for Kids. Kewanee sustained a great deal of damage and fallen trees during last night's storm. As a result, Wethersfield will not be sending a bus for transportation to today's session of College for Kids. Transportation for Tuesday 7-16-24 will be up to individual families from Galva and Wethersfield. Hopefully, Wednesday will see a return to normal transportation plans. Again, Tuesday transportation will be at the discretion of individual families if your child plans to attend today's College for Kids sessions. Thank you for your understanding.
