Galva Elementary School's Word of the Week for 9-23-24 to 9-27-24!
The Jr. High cross country team was back in action today and they had a great race! Parker Kaiser finished in 18:39. Iris Mosely and Sammy Fox got their 2nd best times at 20:23 and 20:47 respectively. The boys were the real show stoppers, each cut over a minuteth off their best times! John Clemons finished in 17:05 and Ryker Yelm finished in 18:18. Their hardwork is paying off!
Spanish 2 students got to try elote today after learning about "comida callejera" (Latin American street food). It was a hit, even with self-proclaimed picky eaters!

Mrs. Wigant and Mrs. Lucas' 1st Grade classes added some color and personality to our hallway! The lanterns were created to go along with the story they read in class, Suki's Kimono. The lantern is part of the Chinese and Japanese cultures and is a symbol of good luck and happiness.

The 7th grade computer science students just finished pitching their own apps by using the problem solving process. They had to choose a problem and decide how an app would help solve that problem. Now they are able to see a real-world application creation presentation! We were very thankful for Mr. Loncka for presenting an app that he created for his capstone project! This was a great tie-in to our problem solving unit! It was also a wonderful way to see how apps are developed in the real world! It is especially awesome that Mr. Loncka is a Galva graduate! Thank you again!
